Tatlong Tasang Tsa means three cups of tea placed in three corners of the room. It is a short Tagalog tongue twister that concentrates the T sound — tatlong (three), tasang (cups of), tsa (tea), tatlong (three) — into the first four words. The word tsa (tea, borrowed from Chinese) is itself unusual in Tagalog and makes the tongue trip when following two T-words in a row.

Tatlong tasang tsa ang nakatakda
sa tatlong sulok ng silid.
English Translation
Three cups of tea are placed
in three corners of the room.
Why Is It Hard?
The first three words share the T sound: TAT-long TA-sang TSA. The word tsa is a consonant cluster (TS + A) that does not appear naturally in most Tagalog words, so it feels foreign even to native speakers when it follows two heavily T-accented words. Nakatakda (placed/scheduled) then re-introduces the TA sound two words later.
- Say tatlong tasang tsa as a unit ten times before adding the rest.
- Do not blend tasang tsa into one word — keep the word boundary clear.
